SaMo11 1
Hi, I recently clipped a pdf file that was less than 1 MB in size. I checked my account balance (size) before and after that file and the difference was about 5MB. I did this primarily to check if the size calculation was accurate and was completed surprised by the 5X difference. Is this a bug in Evernote or something else that I am missing. Does anyone have an idea? Link to comment
Level 5* jefito 5,598 Posted October 23, 2013 Level 5* Share Posted October 23, 2013 This is just a guess, but it might just be that the PDF is a binary format that's encoded into text (which is what the Evernote ENML format is, and what's transmitted to the servers), and the text takes up more space. Might be worth an experiment to export it out to Evernote .enex format (if you're on Windows, maybe Mac can do this too) to see the size differential. Link to comment
SaMo11 1
Jefito, Thanks for the response I tried this. The size for ENEX export is 1076kb. The PDF is 785kb according to Evernote. Link to comment
