judegg 0
I can't seem to get this to work. I am trying to do files with subfiles and then sub-subfiles. Possible? Thank you. Link to comment
BMW44 0
You can do Folder and Sub-Folder, not Sub-Sub-folders. Maybe this could work for you?Banking Checking SavingsInsurance Disability Disability_MinnMurual Disability_Xyz Life Life_MassMutual Life_American Either way, to create a the banking folder do the following:1. Right click on "Notebooks" and Select "create notebook"2. Name "Checking" and click ok3. Right click on "Notebooks" and Select "create notebook"4. Name "Savings" and click ok5. Left click and hold the Savings Notebook and drag it on top of the Checking Notebook. This will create your Notebook stack6. Right click on "Notebook Stack" and select rename. Rename to "Banking" 3. judegg 0
Thank you so much. I have read so much my head is spinning, but your response makes it very clear. Some say to use more tags than notebooks or else you won't be able to find anything so it scared me. Tags are just not working for me the way my files are set up. I really appreciate your help. BMW44 0
you are more than welcome. honestly i have almost 9,000 notes in my evernote and i use tags very seldom... but i dont use alot of notebooks either. i mainly separate work from personal in notebooks and let the powerful search help me locate literally anything in need within seconds. even within pictures if you are a premium user. Let me know if you have other questions. Link to comment
BurgersNFries 2,407
You can do Folder and Sub-Folder, not Sub-Sub-folders.There are no sub folders in Evernote. Notebooks can be grouped into a stack. Notes cannot reside in a stack. Notes reside in a notebook. judegg, you should rely more upon descriptive note titles, keywords & tags more than notebooks. I suggest you read some of the existing threads on tags vs sub notebooks/sub folders as there is already quite a lot of discussion on the topic. Link to comment
