(Archived) Shared folder not syncing on client computer

I have lodged a ticket but I'm not sure if it went through as it just seemed to sit on the submitting ticket window indefinitely.  I am having a problem with a couple of folders I have shared from my premium account to a free Evernote account.  The free account doesn't seem to be syncing and I am getting the area message "sync failed due to unexpected behavior at client side"  I have tried deleting and emptying notes that may have been causing problems.  I have also tried deleting and resharing the sync folders but the problem persist.  Log files are below.

Any help gratefully appreciated!

Hi Byronscotty,

Looking at another post I can see there is a problem with the reporting procedure. However, if you tried to send the above in full that may be the cause of your problem with support. Re apply but this time put the log as an attachment.

When this happens it is my experience that it is often caused by a mismatch between the two accounts on a specific Note.

Looking through your Log there appear to be problems with the following Notes:

Megsie Repair Work

BCA Room Repairs (Archive)

Are you able to look at these Notes in the two accounts and determine if there is a mismatch between them? Did you move the Notes recently?

I would go through a structured procedure to see if you can cure this. I have done the following and it has worked for me:

Delete the Note in the 'other' account.

Move the Note in your account to a new Notebook. I seem to recall that the best way to do this was right clicking and copying to the new location.

Make sure you delete the original Note.

Sync.

You may have to experiment with moving the Note as I cannot remember exactly how I did and rather foolishly didn't Evernote the procedure!

Obviously try with one Note until you get the problem solved.

Best regards

Chris

Hi Chris,

Thank you for your quick reply.  I have so many notes in both of those folders that it is quite a daunting task to go through them all one by one to try find the odd one out.  I have actually deleted one of the shared note books on the client computer and reconnected but the problem still persist?  I'm going to try to delete both notebooks and see if that helps.  thanks again.

Hi Scott,

Where you see 'PERMISSION DENIED' is obviously going to be where the problem is.

You should be able to find those specific Notes and work with them, rather than having to delete Notebooks.

It can be a bit of trial and error but with patience you will get there. The important thing, is of course, to work out why it went wrong and look how you may be able to change your method of operating in the future.

Best regards

Chris
