(Archived) Simple quick key enhancement

There are so many things i like about evernote over OneNote, but there is one usability speed problem. I like to use bullets in my notes.  With all M$ products and OneNote, you can type a * (star) which will automatically create a bullet.  The same thing occurs when you type a number followed by a period (e.g. 1.).  Am i missing a quick key feature to do this?  I hate having to use the mouse for quick note taking.
