evernotejason 2
I want to import a massive number of PDF files into Evernote, preferably using an import folder. However, I want the note created date to match the file date. Otherwise, receipts and documents I scanned a long time ago will appear in lists before more current ones. Is there any way to do this? Level 5* EdH 1,670 Posted November 16, 2012 Level 5* Share Posted November 16, 2012 Not that I am aware of. I did the same (dozens though, not "massive") and manually changed the note dates. What you could do is rename the PDF files to be the dates of the file, or include the date in the name, then at least the note name would have the date in it. Utilities like http://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/Main_Intro.php should be able to do that. I've never used it, so not endorsing it, just the first one that google showed me. Link to comment
giac0m0 0
Did you ever find a way around this? I have a similar problem with PDF document scans that go back several decades and I want the filestamp (that I've already changed) to be the creation date on the note. Link to comment
giac0m0 0
...and found this, which does the job perfectly:http://veritrope.com/code/date-sensitive-file-importer/All I did was change a variable in the Apple Script, to use a local notebook (one that doesn't sync), by editing this line:notebook "NameOfYourNotebook" from file currentFileLocationI then saved the AppleScript as an app, replaced the .icns file with a nicer Evernote icon from this nice site:http://www.softicons.com/application-icons/book-icons-by-mcdo-design/evernote-icon And have a saucy app I can call on anytime to import files with a pre-determined creation date.
