how do you go about searching for a note that you made, say around a year ago without scrolling thru a years worth?

Is there a calendar function where you can click on a date?

Hi @kellec4, use the 'created' or 'updated' search command.

created:20101025 -created:20101031

will return notes created after 25 October last year and before 31 October last year. the 'updated' command works similarly. The Windows client (at least) also has an 'attributes' section in the leftmost pane you can use for a less powerful way to filter by date.

Have a look at the full search grammar, as it's reasonably powerful once you get the hang of it.
