ksm729 2
I have begun exporting my files as a backup and have discovered that the enex files are incomplete. Specifically, it seems to be notes with files attached (pdf or images). When I open the enex file in notepad, the end of the enex just cuts off right in the middle of an attachment and the file is not complete. Files that are simple notes with only text seem to not have this issue. It doesn't seem to be an issue with the html exports. I am running windows and recently updated to the latest desktop evernote. Level 5* gazumped 12,077 Posted February 19 Level 5* Share Posted February 19 HI. Have you tried exporting as HTML? Have you re-imported the complete ENEX file to a test notebook to view the note in Evernote? Notepad is not a reliable platform for ENEX files... Please also confirm whether you're Windows 10 or 11 and what actual version number of Evernote you have... Link to comment
Solution ksm729 2 Posted February 21 Author Solution Share Posted February 21 I figured it out. After exporting the notes, Evernote is displaying a message saying that my exported notes were placed in a file (and it gives the file name). I thought that this meant Evernote was finished exporting the notes, but apparently it does not mean that. As I discovered today, the file size continues to grow as the file is continuing to be created in the background. I was trying to then use/import/view these files too early. After waiting until the enex file was actually finished (the date/time modified would update) then the file created was fine. 1 1 Link to comment
