I wrote a small tool that syncs Evernote notebooks with IMAP-folders in a GMail account. Tags in Evernote are reflected as Labels/tags in GMail.

The tool is open source (and of course free of charge).

I wrote the tool so I always have a backup (or two, I sync some notebooks with multiple GMail accounts) of all my important notes, and I can always access my notes even if I don't have EN installed.

Of course, EN premium is much better with syncing, but I like to have my own backup of my notes.
