I was on Evernote Plus but want to downgrade to free... how?

I'm just confused on how to proceed. I'm really the MOST BASIC of users.
I was billed for and paid for a new annual PLUS subscription on Jan4 for $34.99. I think I'd be just fine on the free plan. BUT... from what I can tell, even with a 50% discount, my $34.99 is less than the new Personal Plan. So will I get downgraded automatically (and Evernote just keeps the $$)? Or do I automatically get billed for more money? Or do I get deleted completely?
I am sooo confused.

You can stay on the Plus plan. If you make a change you will not be able to go back to it though.

Thank you! What a relief!! So I'm basically "grandfathered" or something? Is that just for this year? Or beyond?

Unknown time frame. Not sure EN has ever officially put a time frame on the grandfathered plans. But I was on plus for years before making the switch to the new personal.
