Shared Notes not Synching and overwriting old

We have been using Evernote for 10 years. Both my husband and I share notes between our iPhone. He also has a MacBook and I have a windows laptop. 

We are finding all of the time that He edits a note and then sometime later I go to edit it and it is the old version. Which then replaces his updated version with the old.   It happens vice versa too. Even just between our iPhones. 
 

It is making us want to switch to a more reliable product. We both have the paid versions. I have plus and he has personal. 
 

Any ideas?

Always make sure that you force a sync both before and after you edit a note.  That way you'll always edit the latest version of the note and save it to the server for the next person to view.
