Try this: Open EN, go to settings in Evernote menu. Disable „Keep data on leaving …“.

Now log out, quit the app, restart the Mac. 

When you restarted it, open EN and login. It will take a while to sync the data from the server again.

If this does not solve the problem, uninstall the app completely using the app AppCleaner. Make sure all program parts are selected before uninstalling.

Then reinstall, from the EN website, not the AppStore.
