Search Results - View & Highlighting

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am using Evernote 10.13.4 (2607) on Mac OS Catalina and have been using Evernote for close to a decade now. My questions are two and are related:

- 1) How to have "View As" - "All Pages" set as the default view when searching for items (it looks that "Single Page" is the default one)

- 2) How to have the first search result get automatically highlighted (talking about let's say a 50-page PDF), without requiring me to open again and separately the PDF and redo the search over there (the first search result is automatically highlighted when the PDF is for example one page long; it also looks that the cursor or the page is not automatically scrolled on the document to show the first match)

Both of these features were available in older versions of Evernote. I think if 1) is solved potentially addressing 2) is easier.

Best regards.

I don't think you can do that

I don't think this is exactly what you want but it might help:

I also observed that it is also unable to open automatically a large PDF file (e.g., 25 MB) on my Mac.

I love the new GUI and some of the new features are really nifty but I didn't expect these updates...

One the new features in the upcoming version is "Search and switch to a different note using a keyboard shortcut". Perhaps they have addressed this.
