Unable to load Evernote

I encountered a serious problem with Evernote lately.  I can't load the program at all in Windows 10.  The message is 'Something went wrong on our end.  sorry about that.  Please try restarting Evernote.'.  I restarted the program but it didn't help.  I uninstalled it and reinstall it but it didn't help either.  I'm trying to use the web version but when I open any file attached in my notes, the file is in 'Protected mode'.  I unprotect it for editing and then save the file but the edited content was not saved when I reopened the file.  Very frustrating !!!!  Please help.
