restarting Evernote in same position

This must be simple: I drag my Evernote window on my computer screen so I can see all of my notes. But then when I close Evernote and re-open it the Evernote window does not appear in the same position where I dragged it.

How are you closing Evernote? Using the red X-box in the top right of the window, or using File > Exit? The former only closes the interface; the latter actually shuts down Evernote completely. Either one of them, though, should remember your window position; at least, I find this to be the case on my PC. However, when flakiness like this occurs, File > Exit should be the solution. Put the window where you want it and use File > Exit. Then restart Evernote. If it's still not where it belongs, I'd say reposition it and do File > Exit again, and maybe even restart the computer. If that still doesn't get it ... then I'm stumped.

thanks Dave... I found out that file exit and then restarting does not remember the window position but for some unknown reason using the X does - but only sometimes

Very strange, at least in my experience. What versions of Evernote and Windows are you on?
