Keyboard covers formatting bar

When trying to edit notes, every time I try to highlight text the on screen keyboard pops up & covers the formatting bar. Clearing the keyboard also clears the highlighting. I don't always have access to a Bluetooth keyboard which prevents the on screen keyboard popping up and it's Very Annoying.

• What is the version of Android is running on your Tegranote?
• Have you recently updated the Evernote application?

Hi Matt, I'm using the default Google keyboard (Gboard), Android 5.1, TegraNote-1640, and believe might have had the last Evernote update (free version).
