(Archived) Alternate Install Location

Greetings,

I was installing Evernote, and I noticed that there is no option for installing it in an alternate location. This is troubling, as I have a 60GB SSD for my boot hard drive, and I really try to keep unnecessary programs off of it.

Is there a way to install Evernote to an alternate location? If no, then why the heck not?

Thanks.

You can install EN on a different drive (not C:), using the command-line:

1. Download Evernote_4.XXXX.exe

2. Open cmd (preferably "Run as Admin").

3. cd to the folder where your Evernote download is

4. Type: Evernote_4.XXXX.exe INSTALLDIR=D:\Evernote

where D:\Evernote can be whatever destination directory you want.

Tilphor,

When you start you installation, after checking that license acceptance check box, you should see the "Advanced" button in the installer dialog.

Click on this button to select additional installation options, including the installation location.

Thanks,

Max

I know this thread is a bit old.  I tried the instructions with the newest version and it still installed on the C: drive.  I am also surprised as SSD cards have started to become mainstream that this issue has not been officially addressed during the normal install. I refuse to install this program until I can install it on the D: drive. Thank you

These instructions did not work for me.

1. Download Evernote_4.XXXX.exe
2. Open cmd (preferably "Run as Admin").
3. cd to the folder where your Evernote download is
4. Type: Evernote_4.XXXX.exe INSTALLDIR=D:\Evernote
