Blind noteworthly 1 Posted February 3, 2015 Share Posted February 3, 2015 I am a blind EN user. I just purchased a ScanSnap ix 500. I rely on VoiceOver on iOS and a screenreader on my PC to read the documents to me. Can someone tell me how to set the ScanSnap to embed the OCR data to the pdf before it goes into Evernote? If it is not added before it goes into EN, my devices will not read it aloud. Thanks. Link to comment

I hope another ix 500 user can step in here because I have an s1500 which comes with ScanSnap Manager software running on my laptop. Right-clicking on the icon I can open a window to "Scan Button Settings" and within those settings there's a "File Option" tab on which there's a tickbox option to "Convert to Searchable PDF" which will slow scanning down somewhat, but generates a fully OCR'd and indexed PDF on completion. I don't know if these settings will be the same for an ix 500, but I hope this helps... Link to comment
