iPad update to 7.3.5 caused Evernote app to disappear

Recommended Posts

I have an iPad 3 on iOS 7.1.1. When I tried to update Evernote from 7.3.4 to 7.3.5 the update failed, my app was gone, and in the "Purchased" list in the App Store, it shows Evernote as installed as v7.3.4 but it won't open.  Is there some way to resolve this without having to restore from a backup or factory reset?  I am hoping when the next update comes out it will allow me to update. Any tips would be appreciated.

Have you done any of the suggestions in this other thread covering the exact same issue?

Have you posted in the Apple Support Communities (http://discussion.apple.com), since I don't know if this is an evernote specific issue (though I'm seeing a lot of posts about it recently so maybe it is..?)

Thanks for the tip. I tried removing the App from Settings->General->Usage and pulling it down from the cloud again. That didn't work. I tried restarting and deleting and pulling from the cloud. That didn't work. I tried deleting, restarting, and pulling from cloud. That didn't work. Each time it pulls 7.3.5 but the "Purchased" list in the App Store shows 7.3.4. This appears to be an Evernote issue to me. I might try backing up the existing iPad and doing a restore of that later tonight.

Some potential help from the apple community:

Ah, and while I was searching for that, I came across this little iOS tidbit I didn't know existed:

Settings>general>reset home screen layout.

It seems that a lot of users who had "missing apps" along the same lines as you (sometimes users were even missing the App Store application!) found using this solved their issue:

Of course this might mean you need to rework your app icon layout, but you can speed the process up by snagging screenshots of each page of your home screen (press the home and sleep button simultaneously). This way you can use those as a guide and you'll be back in action pretty quick.
