Support is a paid account option. You can also use Twitter @evernotehelps
That is perhaps one of the dumbest things I've ever heard (on them, not you)... why would they make people pay to get support?? I've never heard of something like this before.

Did you try for your desktop app which you said was also affected?
If the suggestion did not work for you then you should open a support ticket request with Evernote directly. These forums are user-to-user support.
I don't have the desktop app. It doesn't seem like I can email them since I don't have premium. Do you have a link to the support ticket option?

Hi. If you've noticed that the answer is quit and restart and/ or clear the cache it seems like an answer has been given to these many queries. It seems like a good idea to clear the browser cache, because the likely cause is probably a cookie on your system that is reminding Evernote where you left off in that note. It's trying to be helpful in returning to what it thinks is the last editing you did - which is not a glitch that can be fixed anywhere but on your system.
I have cleared all cookies and cache from my browser and it didn't fix the issue.

I've seen this question asked 1000 times, but the answer is never given. Whenever I open evernote ANYWHERE: in a browser or in an app, it opens to an old note way down in my notes list.
Why does it not just open to the most recent note. Have they not implemented this tiny fix yet?
And no, I can't just quit the app like most other posts recommend because I mainly use evernote in a browser. Am I supposed to clear the cache every single time I use evernote?
Same note opens every time when opening Evernote

I still think it's hilarious. It turns away anyone who doesn't want to pay for a subscription instead of keeping free users that may turn into paying customers in the future.
Anyways, thank you for your help!!
