OK, I finally managed to force quit the app / shut down and re-install. Everything working fine now and it did recognise my account. Thanks for the help -

I did a restart and Evernote seemed to open but it just had a blank page and all of the menu drop down features are grey. I can open account info but when I try to open notes from there I get a 'sorry message try again' which doesn't work. More importantly, now I can't quit the app or uninstall it and I can't shut down my Macbook Pro -
Have just updated to version 10.20.4 and now the app quits while opening. It almost opens but quits at the last moment. Have tried it countless times now but always the same.
