  1. Hi, I keep using evernote touch on my tablet, and my expectation was that articles I save(d) were also synced, or just sent, to the account created by the app itself. Since this is not happening to me, I'd like to know more about.

The only option I have is to manually email articles and read them from desktop is using the internal email address (@m.evernote.com) for this purpose.

Can you advice please? thank you so much,

    ricardo

    Hi Ricardo,

This thread is about our beta release of the app but I believe you're actually using the public release.

Feel free to open a separate thread. Thanks.

  2. Hello,

I am an Evernote Business user- and my company uses BlackBerry

I just realized that Evernote for BlackBerry 10 does not display Business Notebooks, only personal ones.

Is there a timeline for the release of such feature? Is this the same as 'Shared Notebooks' which have been discussed here as soon to be released? This is a critical feature for a business user on a business geared phone.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

We needed "Shared Notebooks" to be supported before we could deliver "Evernote Business".

We don't give ETA since we plan 1 release at a time, but I'll give the head's up when we start working on it.

  3. After experimenting with the wonderful BlackBerry Passport more I'm really getting into keyboard shortcuts and hoped there was a plan for them? This would incorporate the BlackBerry Classic, the Q10 / Q5 and Porsche P’9981 plus the upcoming slider-phone and unnamed new keyboard device coming up in 2015.

In the list of notes view you can currently scroll up and down by using 'p' key for up and 'n' key for down.

It would be nice if this extended to within a note as well (obviously in view-only mode) plus there would be other good ways to use the relative uniqueness of having a keyboard. The 'r' key could bring you directly to your reminder list of notes and maybe being able to assign custom shortcuts to keys (something like 'd' key auto searching for word like daily) would be really handy as well. I digress...

Yes, decent implementation of keyboard shortcuts would be very much appreciated and a sensible addition to the BlackBerry app.

    Thanks for the idea.

We considered shortcut to quickly launch Evernote and add a note, but we'll see what we could do with navigation.

    Thanks.

  4. I've been an avid Evernoter (premium) since many years as you can probably look up my account. Lately, after getting Surface Pro 3, I've been using Onenote a lot for handwritten notes with the touch of a button on the pen. While I know a button action may not be possible, but even if Evernote touch had the ability to handwrite notes, in a meeting, that would be fantastic. I usually take a lot of handwritten notes, and I used to scan them into evernote, but now I 'onenote' them.

Even on the desktop version, I can't scroll the note with my finger on the surface touch screen. That's ok, if the Evernote touch filled the gap.

As of now, I don't even use Evernote touch.

In fact, as you are all probably aware, Microsoft is getting closer. I just downloaded "Office Lens Preview" on Android. that allows picture taking, conversion to searchable pdf, etc.

Getting there guys, let's make Evernote Touch compatible with pen, writing etc.

    Thanks for the feedback.

We'll look at this feature indeed. It's on our backlog.

  5. I would like to join/try the beta. However, it does not seem to be available within the beta zone.

    Can anyone help?

Sorry, we can't really help here, this is managed by Blackberry.

Over the last few days my notes stopped syncing. Had to reinstall the app to get it working again. I send through the app logs for review.

There was a problem with the service yesterday, that may be related. Should be back though.

  6. Great step in the right direction.  A few comments:

    • need to be able to do a checkbox - I see an earlier comment on this but I can't see how to create a check box
    • multiple windows
    • URL tagging - windows version automatically converts a url, this version doesn't
    • drawing - ability to draw using pen
    • attachment - can't seem to attach files
    • I also noticed the issue that when switching back/forth from windows it appears to sometimes skip back to the top of the note

    Thanks for the great work.

    Thanks.

    - there was indeed a confusion about checkbox. Looking at it

    - could you tell me more about the "multiple window" and the issues to fix?

    - url tagging: looking at it

    - drawing: on the backlog for review

    - attachments: we added an entry point in the next beta

    - could you possibly capture a quick video (for instance with your phone)? Could help our testers.

Hi, I'd like to ask how to work out my username and password for accessing the account on my desktop pc, having used my MS account, as the app allows to do, to generate a new account where I'm sending my notes using sharing function, from my tablet.

The username appears in the options of the app, but what about the password?

Does it maintain the same I use for MS account?

I'm not sure about that, but I'll check with the previous team.

You may be able to do a password reset, check the MS account inbox and define a new password.

Since our apps use XAuth, it shouldn't log you out of your connected apps.

But let me get back to you to double check.

    Thanks.

  7.

When I install the App from the Microsoft App Store (to my Surface Pro 3) I am forced to use the Microsoft Account. That's Ok. BUT then I am automatically logged on to Evernote Touch with this Microsoft Account. And THIS is wrong. But I can't find a button or gesture to log out and to log in again with my 'real' Account.

Has this behavior changed with the beta?

    Hi Robert-De,

I read your message too fast.

Yes, we removed this behavior on the beta app.

You won't be automatically logged on, and I agree that this is very confusing.

  8. Hi,

I would love to try the beta.

But I have a problem that I can't figure out: How do I login to Evernote Touch with my 'real' Account?

    I have a (premium) Account: foo@bar.com

    And I have a Microsoft Account: foo.bar@outlook.com

When I install the App from the Microsoft App Store (to my Surface Pro 3) I am forced to use the Microsoft Account. That's Ok. BUT then I am automatically logged on to Evernote Touch with this Microsoft Account. And THIS is wrong. But I can't find a button or gesture to log out and to log in again with my 'real' Account.

Has this behavior changed with the beta?

Thanks for reporting the problem! We'll have a look at that.

You shouldn't need to use your Microsoft Account.

When you sign in, you should be able to select a different account than the one suggested.

Could you maybe try to logout, launch the app again and add a screenshot of the log in page?

  9. One more thing.

Problem: As a user of the Web client, Windows and Windows Phone apps I get no proper indication that, let's face the fact, I'm about to run into serious problems with editing the note I'm currently working on. There is no such indication until I actually make an attempt to edit the problematic note on my phone.

To address the issue I would submit two wishlist requests:

    1. A proper indication.

    2. An option to paste without formatting by default. (a global option for an app would be fine by me but I bet many people would appreciate a per app option)

    Thanks,

We'll also investigate how we could use a different technology for the note editor that should allow full cross-platform support.

  10. I appreciate the attention being given to the needs for a touch enabled windows app. I would like to put a vote in for moving beyond just fixing this app and look into developing something on Windows 10 that will compete with OneNote on the surface pro 3.

See this article link on the new DirectInk software from Microsoft which is claiming to make it easier to add pen support. I just got a surface pro 3 and I am torn now between switching to OneNote or staying with Evernote.

    Thanks

    Thanks Joe.

We'll see what we can do on Win10 and I take note about the handwriting support.

  11. Neither in the desktop nor in the WP app.

I've tried to attach an image to an existing note on my phone:

    1. Saved the image to the phone.

    2. Used the 'Attach picture' feature of evernote.

    3. An icon is displayed instead of the image (with a frame of the image size).

Please note that the file I've attached here is exactly the file the evernote WP app was commanded to attach. No modifications of any kind, copying through cloud etc.

    Thanks for reporting the problem.

For clarification, by "desktop" I believe you meant the Windows 32 app, not the Evernote Touch for Win8, right?

  12. The recording quality in the WP 7.5 version of evernote used to be decent but in the WP 8, it is really poor. Any way to configure the audio quality?

Also is there any way to keep the audio playing while recording?

    Erik.

    Hi Cad,

Thanks, we'll have a look at the first issue.

About the second point, I'm not sure to understand the use case, could you possibly elaborate? I understand that you want to play an attached audio recording and record a new one at the same time, is that correct?

    Thanks.

  13. Very niche so I totally accept this isn't on the top of any lists but any planned support / attention for BlackBerry Passport touch-sensitive keyboard or general keyboard shortcuts for Q10, Q5 and Passport? We know BlackBerry are releasing at least another one or two keyboard phones this year as well so still worth some attention...?

We've already tweaked a few things so the experience on those devices is not broken, however we don't really take full advantage of the new capabilities for now.

That's on our list and we'll keep watching how many people are using this kind of phone.

    Thanks!

  14. I experience the new beta as faster in the notes section and launching notes, but it is very slow in both the notebook and tags section.

The time frame from pressing tags to showing all the tags and pushing the collaps tags button is about 40 seconds, which is longer than the older app. This is using a Siurface Pro 2 i5 4gb.

I also think that the new search bar inside the app should narrow the search to notebooks or tags in their respective areas. Would also be great if the search suggestions for tags worked in the same way as tag suggestions are shown when adding tags.

    Thanks for the feedback,

Could you maybe tell us a little more about your tags (how many, nested depth, ...) so we can test under the same conditions?

Thanks for the improvement suggestions, we'll have a look at that.

  15. Hi Xavier, My sincerest apology, but for the life of me I can't figure out how process of sharing a Notebook with another Evernote user. Just to make sure, I can confirm that I'm on holiday latest Beta 2 app. Is there a way for "push" a Notebook to a particular username / email? I do see the Share button on individual notes, but that just shares a URL of the contents of a Note. Perhaps I'm just not understanding how full process. Thanks for any help and guidance that you or anyone can provide. Neil

Very good point, sorry for the confusion.

For now, you can't share a notebook from your phone. You need to do it from the desktop or the web app (through workchat I believe).

We didn't add it for now since we'd need to add workchat first.

  16. Hi folks,

Our team is currently re-writing Evernote Touch for Windows to make it faster and more stable.
This first beta (v3.0.0.728) should allow all features* you currently have on Evernote Touch.
We’ve also tweaked a few things including:
    - More accurate search
    - Reminders’ notification
    - Display Reminders in note list only

The app should be faster than the current public release.
However, there is still a lot to do before we are satisfied.

    *LIMITATIONS
We’re still working on fixing some issues.
    Here are some of them:
    - new accounts may not be able to add new shortcuts

  17. Hi folks,

Our team is currently adding support for notebooks shared with you on the Blackberry app.

In this second beta (version 5.6.0.393), you’ll be able to write in notebooks shared with you in write access:

    - Create, edit or delete notes in shared notebooks

    - Organize notebooks into stacks, make them offline, rename them and remove them from your list.

We also fixed the problem of note not being edit-able and we removed shared notes from the “Notes” list.

    LIMITATIONS

    - You cannot share a notebooks from this app. It must be done from a different app.

    - You cannot select what shared notebook to sync or not

    - You cannot move a note from a shared notebook shared with you

    - You cannot edit tags in a shared note

    From previous beta:

    - Initial, sync time will be increased, because in addition to syncing personal notes and notebooks, linked notebooks will be synced as well.

    - Notes in those notebooks won't include text snippets.

    - You cannot search in notebooks shared with you.

    - You cannot see tags from notes shared with you in your tag list.

    INSTALLATION/UPGRADE

    - Download the Blackberry Beta Zone app

    - Sign-in and join the Evernote program

    - After installation you may sign out and sign in again.

         - tap the “hamburger” icon

         - select your username

         - select loggout
