  5. To clarify, We don't offer a way to create videos directly in the Evernote app. You can however create a video in any number of other apps and then bring them into Evernote by simply draggin and dropping them. Of course you must be sure that the file is under our individual file size restrictions (25mb for free users, 50mb for premium users) and you have the monthly upload capacity (60mb for free users, 1gb for premium users). A potential workaround that we recommend is to upload a video to any number of video services that are optimized to play back the video regardless of the users bandwidth. Once you've uploaded it to a video site you can copy the link into an Evernote note and have access to it that way (this is also makes a possible workflow for sharing videos).

  13. Share the ways you are using Evernote and Penultimate in your class?
  14. Hi Dan. Thanks for sharing your question. Glad to hear you're students are responding so well to Evernote. The issue of sharing devices in general has come up when talking about Evernote in a school setting. The two workarounds that i've heard most commonly is to create multiple profiles which can have separate Evernote accounts/databases for each. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8235.html . The other alternative is to use the web version of Evernote. Let me know if either of these two options work out. I'd love to get your feedback on how either of these two options work out.

  17. This is really great. Thanks so much for putting this together and sharing. We really appreciate all the support.
  18. Great questions. I'll let other teachers and administrators chime in on workflows that they are using. Since every school has a unique set of requirements and variables (hardware, etc) one of the primary benefits of Evernote is the flexiblitliyt it provides and the ability to create systems and customization for each unique situation. Regarding your question about safeguards there aren't any explicit controls in place. Again going back to the uniqueness of each school some schools have safeguards in place for safe browsing, blocking of things, etc. In general we are hearing from schools who not only introduce Evernote to their students but also use it as an opportunity to introduce proper research techniques, organization skills, etc.
  19. Share the ways Evernote can be the one app for all your students education needs. Create: Create content directly in Evernote. Text notes, Audio notes, snapshots, lists and more. Collect: Bring in content from all other sources. Add files, Web clips, images, scans and more. Once in Evernote you can easily organize them. Collaborate: Share single notes, share notebooks, share with individuals, groups of people or the world.
  20. Just wanted to share my recent experience helping my nephew with his science fair project. I introduced him to Skitch as a way to easily label photos that he was printing out. He took to it immediately. It got me thinking how a flexible tool like skitch would be extremely useful in any number of ways when putting together a science fair project. Do you have any other examples?

  24. http://tabtimes.com/news/education/2012/02/20/apples-ipad-helps-improve-kindergarten-literacy-maine A study conducted at a school district in Auburn, Maine has found that Apple's iPad can be used to help improve kindergartner literacy scores. Meanwhile, in a separate announcement, a school in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, has revealed its initial findings from its own iPad pilot program. Sherwood Middle School rolled-out 53 iPads to students and teachers from 1st December last year. Teachers at the school say that the iPad has allowed them to maximise the time spent on teaching the lesson, rather than distributing materials, with Evernote often is use to save notes and projects across multiple devices. Evernote is also being used so that students can access and submit assignments. The teachers say that they and the students rely on around ten apps in all, including Apple’s Keynote and ShowMe – an interactive whiteboard app. The teachers add that there have been few behavioural problems with the tablet, with the odd occasion relating to students forgetting to bring their tablets to school, or emailing friends during class. Of the 53 tablets handed out, three have been damaged.
