I second this. I have used Evernote for almost 10 years and love it. But...not being able to edit encrypted text the way it used to work is a real downer. I'm considering using something else. I'm a paid user. Why remove something that was so convenient? Also, not sure if this is just me, but with the latest update Evernote no longer shows on my Windows taskbar. I have to use alt-tab to find it after it's opened.
