  1. Bullet list has made the checkbox format work for me, although for some lists it took several times to get it to stick. I have not figured out how to format it so it automatically inserts a checkbox, but that is minor. I too can only drag and drop to move items on my PC, not on an IOS device. There I have to cut and paste. But at least I now have functioning checkbox lists.
  2. Boot17, great idea. Thanks. I will try it. I don't mind the time setting it up once. It is just the over and over again that is so annoying.
  3. Please, don't preach at me. I am not the only one who paid for a wonderful app, only to have the developer change the character. In addition, as I mentioned, had the various agents politely said, I'm sorry it doesn't fit your needs any more, but that is the direction we have decided to go, take or or leave it, I would have politely said thanks for the memories. Instead I got double speak run-around.
  4. The checkbox feature is not gone. It is just broken. If you insert a space at the beginning of the line, and then insert a checkbox, the system respects what you create as an ongoing list, like a shopping list (which is our use of Evernote). However, that workaround has a bug. For some lines, but not all, and seemingly at random, when the list is saved, the space at the beginning of a line disappears. So, the next time you go to use the list, you have to go in and insert a space in all those broken lines. Otherwise, if you hit enter and the end of a line without a space, the draws lines line the completed checklist you are trying to avoid. I have complained, begged, etc., a number of times, and the response is everywhere from hmmm, nice feature to add. Maybe we will consider it sometime. To, yes, it is a known bug. We are working on it. Don't hold your breath. Look for a different app. I am going as soon as I find one, but I haven't found a good replacement yet. Anyone? Please?
  5. We use Evernote for shopping lists on 6 devices. We are having recurring problems with generating duplicate notes. In trying to troubleshoot the problem, I find that location is not enabled on one iPad. The further underlying problem is that on that iPad, in Settings, the Location line for enabling ALLOW LOCATION ACCESS is missing. And BTW, the line to enable Notifications is missing as well, but that is not the problem. Anyone have a clue to the cause or fix of this issue? I tried deleting the app, rebooting, and downloading it again. No change.
  6. Actually, quickest way, I found, is to enter left bracket, right bracket, space.
  7. For the work around to work, you have to add a space at the beginning of each line before inserting the checkbox. Pain in the butt, but it works. Now I am having a problem with the font. I changed the font, in IOS and in PC app, but every time I add something, the new addition defaults to a smaller font. I can't find anywhere in the new apps to set a default font size. Anyone?
  8. The space before the checkbox works in the new PC app, but not on the IOS app. Lists still get screwed up there, and then when they sync with the PC app, is screws up the list again. Really irritating.
  9. And this workaround seems to only be a partial fix. Benefit of Evernote lists is syncing between devices. Your workaround on my PC did not follow through after sync with IOS device. Problem is unfixed on iPad. Now what?
  10. DTLow, your workaround worked. Thanks. But since now it is not a "list," hitting enter at the end of a line doesn't result in a check box at the beginning of the next line. Is there a quick way to enter a space followed by a checkbox as you start a line? Otherwise there are a number of steps necessary every time.
