On my Win 11 keyboard Win+Shift+S gives me screenshot options which can be posted into a note.  Or for partial content Ctrl+C - Ctrl+V will copy and paste selected text.

Alt+Ctrl+N is the global command for 'new note'

So Win+Shift+S - Alt+Ctrl+N - Ctrl V is as close as you can get.  It should be possible to shorten  the sequence in AHK or Phrase Express.

(There was a process at one stage to save a clip directly as a note using Win+Shift+S but that doesn't seem to work in my latest version)

how about for Mac Desktop? any key combination equivalent to the old "control + command + C" screenshot shortcut, or a way around the multiple steps described above?

    Thanks

  2. Thanks for the feedback and the hints.

Yes, what I meant was the desktop version in Mac, of course.

There are screenshot tools, but with less functionality as the option in Evernote, to begin with, I cannot even use shortcuts. If you press the only option in the menu "more actions" only offers "quit Evernote". The  web clipper helps, but it is not the same. We know that a habit of established over a decade.

I have sent request when this function was first cut, and now again.

Regarding the announcement of Legacy, I did not get any notification, reminders, emails... I was caught off-guard.

  3. My experience with Evernote as a paid user goes back over 12 years.

The main reason that made me become a client was the screenshot quick note feature, in IOS (at least) that mean that with a combination of keys, I could capture a selection of the screen, and visual notes will be listed under the same quicknote (as a draft) and accessible through the bar on top.

Images there will still be transferable and usable across multiple options (drag into an email, drag to desktop to save as a screenshot, etc).

This feature stopped working a couple years ago, and I did not get a solution from the evernote management, but some helpful user showed me the way to Evernote Legacy. I have been using it until the end of March where mysteriously everything started failing.

Why did Evernote did not notified bye email that Legacy will stop being supported? Even if we are only 1%, what would have cost to share this information ahead of time?  I have lost a lot of work, notes and time... Only yesterday I found out.

The new quicknote feature lacks the functionality the old one had. I find it quite useless: screenshots are directly saved as notes individually; you cannot  add any non-text information, and, even more ridiculous, if you are using two monitors, it only works in the main one!

How can something that worked so well in 2012 has turned to be worse 12 years later? Can you please add this back?

If there is no plan, I would like to know ASAP so I can unsubscribe.
