Thank you for the tip. It seems that 10.19 solves the issue I had with 10.18. While 10.19 has been available for download for a good 10 days, it is not yet updated through the App Store...

Before moving a note to a notebook (including when creating the note), that notebook must lose its lock and change from grey to black in the "move to notebook..." window. Evernote (10.18) seems to be doing some heavy cleanup work before moving the note. On very large folders, that may take a few dozen seconds on my iMac. In the example below, the folder I want to move to contains 8067 notes and I must wait more than 20s before I can click and go ahead. Strangely, the cleanup must be repeated after just a few hours. This slows me down extremely. How can I accelerate the process? What can Evernote do to improve, please?
