Wow! Thanks @PinkElephant! I never would have guessed that the OS would auto-add characters in a text editor for a third party application. I was able to disable it using your instructions. Thanks for helping me.

When I type a phrase in a note using the Mac desktop client, a period is automatically added to the end if I type two spaces. I can't figure out how to turn this off. I want to be able to edit plain text without auto insertion of periods, but don't see any option for not automatically adding punctuation. Anyone know if turning off auto-punctuation or autoformatting options is possible?
