  1. Thanks for the encouragement... It's been over a week since I upgraded to Premium and the test case file I'm watching still hasn't been indexed. Is that still a reasonable amount of time? Also, is there anyone to force an individual note to get indexed?
  2. Browncoat, thank you for the really fast reply. I'm sort of watching this one particular file as my test case. It's been probably 3 days since I upgraded to Premium and that file still hasn't been indexed according to the note's information panel. I don't really have that many notes, certainly fewer than 100. Is 3 days a reasonable amount of time to pass without all of those notes (let's assume every one has a PDF) having been indexed? Also, as a second question, is there any way to force a note to be indexed, kind of bringing it to the head of the queue? Thank you.
  3. I just upgraded to Premium after many years of use. I have lots of PDFs attached to notes. Now that I am premium, will the EN servers automatically start running OCR against all of the PDFs in my existing notes, or do I somehow have to trigger that process. (I'm hoping I don't have to recreate the note!) Thanks.

  5. Not to harp, since it's obviously not a feature in the current release. However, it would seem trivial to me that when you are looking at the new note window, in addition to tagging, it simply has a field for which notebook you want the thing stored in. I have the "inbox" notebook set up as well, but I still have to then individually grab the notes and move them manually to folders. All the procedures above are basically workarounds because of the lack of a very obvious feature addition.
  6. I'm using the Mac Evernote client. I love the fact that you can drag a PDF into Evernote. However, how the heck do you get the PDF back out of Evernote as an intact file? It would seem that Evernote stores the content of the PDF. However, unlike, say a Word document that is actually stored as a document that can be retrieved by dragging it to the desktop, the PDF seems to be irretrievably locked within Evernote. Am I missing something? Thanks, Michael
  7. Thanks, that works on the Mac, too. However, what about the case where you create a note on the fly. At that point, you're not actually looking at your list of notebooks so you can't preselect one. Yet I may already know that I want the note to end up in a specific notebook. Right now, I have to close the note, switch to the Evernote interface, find the new note, and manually drag it to the correct notebook. This seems like a lot of extra work when it would be much simpler to have a means to designate the target notebook when creating the note. Hope that is clear as to what I'm trying to accomplish.
  8. I'm wondering if it is possible to, in addition to tagging a note as it's being created, specify which notebook it should be placed into? As it stands now, after tagging the note, I am hitting the "close window" button and then manually moving the note into a folder. Am I missing something? If not, this would seem like a good feature to add. Thanks, Michael
  9. Thanks in advance for any help offered. When dragging a note onto a nested tag, that specific tag is applied to the note. However, unless you then also drag the note onto the tags above it in the hierarchy, the "parent" tags are not applied to the note. It would seem to me that if I tag a note with a nested/child tag, then by definition, all of the tags above it in the hierarchy would and should also apply to that note and be automatically added as tags. Otherwise you have the tedious task of dragging the note to each tag in the hierarchy individually. Perhaps I am missing something that is already in the product, perhaps a setting somewhere? Otherwise, this would seem to be a pretty obvious feature to add. Thanks, Michael
  10. I agree with the comments that this is a wonderful piece of work. I am also wondering about how to use the Mac Applescript version of the bookmarklet. I am using Safari 4.0. I put the normal Readability bookmarklet on my bookmark bar. However, right-clicking the bookmark, as suggested, does not bring up a "properties" option. Furthermore, when I copy the provided Applescript and attempt to paste it into the address for the bookmarklet, it only pastes the final line of the routine, presumably because the bookmark address field can't handle line breaks/paragraphs. If you could provide further instructions on exactly how to use the Applescript version in Safari 4.0, that would be great. Thanks, Michael
