About metamatt

  1. Actually, I wrote a utility to import notes from Palm Desktop, which you can find at http://www.maddogsw.com/evernote-utilit ... -importer/. Sorry, can't help with Outlook.
  2. Sorry, I don't have any idea why you're getting that LoadLibrary error message. If you want to try installing software on your computer so it knows what to do with the smaller source version (the gzipped tarball), you would want to: - install WinZip (http://www.winzip.com/index.htm). This will let you open the .tar.gz file (it's similar to a .zip file), and extract the files inside. The important one is EvernotePalmMemoImporter.py, but your computer probably won't know what to do with this one yet either. - install Python (http://www.python.org/download/). Grab the 2.7 version. - install wxPython (http://downloads.sourceforge.net/wxpyth ... 0-py27.exe). After installing all of these, you should be able to run EvernotePalmMemoImporter.py. I hope this helps!
  3. I noticed this in the first Evernote-for-Pre release, but I figured/assumed/hoped it would be fixed in the 1.0 release. I've been using a less secure password for months because Evernote-for-Pre doesn't allow me to log in with my preferred password. I just tried again with the more complicated password I prefer, and it still fails. So: still an outstanding bug that Evernote-for-Pre doesn't work with passwords with non-alphanumeric characters?
  4. Interesting. I tried that at first, but it's not always possible to use the entire first line as the title (Evernote has a limit on the title length, Palm has no such limit on the length of a line), so doing it that way choked on some of my sample data. I didn't want to get into fancy heuristics on where to split the first line if it doesn't fit. I suppose I could move the first line to the title if it fits entirely, otherwise keep it in the body and duplicate the part that fits as the title, but that's going to confuse people. I don't really want to add options to what's currently a simple process.
  5. OK, the Windows version is there now too (and source for anybody not running Windows or OS X or who hates bloated downloads). Same place: http://www.maddogsw.com/evernote-utilit ... -importer/.
  6. This tool is now ready for use on Macs -- I haven't packaged it for Windows yet. You can download it from http://www.maddogsw.com/evernote-utilit ... -importer/ -- let me know how it goes.
  7. Here's hoping that Palm is better, not worse, relative to Apple when it comes to gatekeeping 3rd party software updates... There should be some sort of Hippocratic Oath for the gatekeeper.
  8. I'm writing a simple tool to do this. It's nearly done; let me know if you're interested in testing it, and also what version of Palm Desktop you're running on what OS (for example, 4.2.2 for Mac, etc).
  9. One other problem I've noticed is that EN seems to work right after launch, but if I leave it running for a while, it won't refresh notes. Especially if I switch between list view and thumbnail view at the main screen -- I've never actually seen thumbnail view load, and if I get bored of waiting for thumbnail view to load and try to go back to list view, it also stays blank and won't load. At that point I just give up and exit the app and restart it.
  10. Note that if you haven't ever gotten past the spinning circle at launch, not all passwords work -- I had to retreat from a password containing symbols to one that's purely alphanumeric.
  11. Aha, someone already noticed the same thing -- viewtopic.php?f=48&t=10376.
  12. FIrst off, thanks for making this app available so quickly for the Pre. I was excited to find it in the App Catalog; downloaded it; installed it; ran it; then... logged in and saw an endless progress spinner. I'd noticed a few of the reviews in the App Catalog said it does that if you enter your password incorrectly. I quit the app and retried, 5 times. I'm sure I'm entering my password and username correctly. What gives? Well, it works for my wife, so it must be something weird about my account. My password has letters, numerals, and symbols. I change my password to something without symbols. Now I can log in from the Pre. Conclusion: yup, the Pre version can't currently handle symbols in passwords.
