I have the same problem. However, there are ressources on the web where you can download earlier versions of evernote. Check uptodown.com or apkmirror.com: https://evernote.en.uptodown.com/android https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/evernote-corporation/evernote/ Version 8.5.2 works on my Android 5.1.1 phone.
