  1. Ok, I understand. Thanks for the clarification. Too many good ideas needs a bit of sorting and priorization. And thanks for the comment on the support. I have to admit I'm a mere passive user here and not much to contribute beyond my ideas as a daily user of Evernote. It's a programme that I used to love and I have been disappointed in the last couple of years with the changes in plans prices and features that did not match the original ones that I had collected. Now that I have all of my personal (sometimes very personal) data in the software, I feel very upset that the company can, imho, make abusive changes and unfair price hikes (100% in less than 5 years). But I guess that's a story for another day/thread. I admire community projects that work well, I just don't recognize myself in this one anymore. And unfortunately, there is no other way than the community to make suggestions of new features. Cheers
  2. Thanks for your replies. I keep believing it is a good idea, and that the "it doens't exist because one can do without it" answer is just not good enough. Microsoft OneNote does that really well. It's not the first time that I get this type of answer here in the Evernote users community, and I am starting to wonder to what extent the community is really willing to improve the product for the satisfaction of the users.
  3. Hello, I would like to ask that when I select a sentence and click on underline, if I accidentally select the space that is just after the last word in the sentence, that this word is not underlined. That would look like this: CURRENT SITUATION: Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur REQUESTED FEATURE: Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur In this example, the space directly after the word dolor that was selected was underlined. But it would be much smarter if the editor could guess that it was not relevant to underline this "dead" space... Many thanks
  4. Sorry, I must not have expressed myself correctly. My issue is not the icon in the task bar, but the fact that when I click on it (left click), instead of opening the main Evernote window, it opens a "quick note" option that I never use. In order to open Evernote window, I have to click a second time on the arrow at the top right of that popup window to access the main app. Another way to open the main window is to right click on the Evernote icon in the taskbar and click on "open Evernote". I find it cumbersome and heavy to use on a daily basis (and very annoying quite frankly). I would suggest to the programmer to 1. either add an option to remove the quicknote popup, or 2. Enable a double-click (left click) on the Evernote icon to open directly the main window in one click! Does that make sense?
  5. Hi PinkElephant! Sorry for the late reply, I'm only seeing your answer now. Thank you for your response! I must have not expressed myself correctly. I do not mind the icon in the task bar. My issue is that when I left click on the icon to open Evernote, I have the pop up "quick note" window coming up instead of EN main window. I basically never use the "quick note" option, because either I want to create a note (10% of use) and then I open the programme, or I want to read a note (90% of the time), and then I open the programme. So in short, the pop up "quick note" option is rather an obstacle to a smooth use of EN for me, which on a day to day basis is quite difficult. I am training to right click on the icon instead of left clicking, but it is not very natural with my use of Windows. I'm not sure if I'm clear? Many thanks
  6. Hi, I use Evernote every day, and therefore, I added it to my start up menu in Windows. However, as the program starts with Windows it pops up just after the start, even though I do not necessarily to use it then. It would be great to have the option to start Evernote in reduced mode in the task bar, so it does not pop up until I need it. Not sure if that makes sense? Thanks
  7. Instead of the quick note what would be useful is to be able to search directly in the notes from the icon button. I mostly use Evernote for "reading" notes rather than "creating" new ones. Therefore, I find the quick note pop up when I left click on the Evernote icon in the task bar really annoying and unuseful. I am rarely in the rush to create a note and would always create new notes using the + button on the software window. Alternatively, I would like to disable the "quick note" pop up window when I left click on the evernote icon in the task bar and have the software window opening with that left click, which would feel much more natural.
  8. Yes, the previous version was fantastic: you would simply open the software and be in front of your notes. Most likely, you would find there the note you were coming to get opened in front of your eyes. Simple and really efficient. The new versions have tried to bring in new features that complexity the notes system without bringing any better user experience in my views. I feel like we are the victims of new marketing-led strategies, and my experience of the software is decreasing.
  9. Accessing my notes has been put one click further due to the recently added 'quick note' option. I never use quick notes and would like to be able to disable this feature. Alternatively, the software could learn from users whether they use more 'quick note' or 'open Evernote' when they click on the icon in the task bar.
