    I honestly don't understand how this problem persists. I used to use evernote for EVERYTHING, but have stopped because shared notebooks can't be searched, which is just unreal.

    +1 for this feature. Using Evernote is becoming an increasing hassle with so many "old" notebooks I don't use anymore cluttering the UI. Would really like to see this feature.
