I tried recreating the file, splitting the files, and renaming the files, and I got the same outcome. I spoke with Apple Support four times and was elevated to the next level with the same recommendation, contact Evernote Support. Apple believes a file/note is corrupt somewhere in a folder.

One of my (five) split .enex files will not import into Apple Notes for Mac All the others imported just fine. I am guessing the file is corrupt. Any suggestions
