This is not an issue I'm aware of. You should only get a new note in a window if you're NOT in the Note view. For example if you're in Tags clicking new note will pop it up in a window. Is anyone else seeing this issue? I tried now and it works as expected When in note view I create a new note and it opens in the same window When in tags view I clicked on create new note and a new window opened Tested on MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) with Yosemite 10.10.4 installed Thanks - as it turns out, I didn't notice (didn't even pay attention as I didn't know it would make a difference) - I was in a search results list. It seems this behavior happens (maybe intentionally) when in that view, similarly to when being in the tags view.

Is anyone else seeing this issue? Thanks for checking! I didn't know this was a different behavior depending on what view I was in, but you are right: if I am in a Notebook (is this what the Note view is?) new notes still open in the Notes list within that Notebook. When I had this happen, I had search results displayed in the notes list area so I wasn't in a specific Notebook but looking at search results. Is this not a Note view? Now I understand the difference and you are right, it hasn't changed. I guess it's intentional then and has been that way before I just didn't notice as I never tried creating a new Note (which in this case would go into the Inbox) when I had a search result list in the left pane.
Since I installed the App Store version 6.0.16, every new note I create opens in a new window. This wasn't the case before and I can't find anything in the settings to change this. Is this only happening to me, or this is something new? If it is a new "feature", how can I turn it off and have new notes open within the main window?
