Disable "All Notes"

I also have this issue. My app tends to bog down when it opens and needs to not only load all the notes, but also open the first note on the list. Is there an option to open the Andriod app (phone & Chromebook) in a Notebook view, instead of All Notes? I have searched high and low and not found one yet. Thanks!
