About Evernote Dutchman

  1. Justin and team, Please, reenable the Atlas view again. Searching for the notes on or near a location really was a boon on mobile. Thanks for keeping up the good work.
  2. Dear Evernote team, When reading the posts in this discussion, I perceive there are many questions and considerable uncertainties. You state in your Three Laws of Data Protection (link) you are not a "big data" company and do not make money off our content. That may have been true to date, yet, you just announced a partnership with one of the epitomes of big data. Your statement in the Three Laws that "Everything you put into Evernote is private by default." deserves scrutiny by your users. Instead of having your users make implicit assumptions, please, make a clear video, Q&A or however best to convey the information in a clear and concise manner, answering all of the following questions: What specifically can Google do with our notes on their servers? What has Evernote done to warrant the integrity of our notes on Google's servers? Is Google a mere hardware infrastructure provider or has it access to our notes, in the sense that it can search, read, mine and interpret them? If the capabilities of Google go beyond being a mere provider of hardware infrastructure, please, disclose what it can do with it. Are our notes encrypted with complete integrity when sent between the servers and any of the apps enabled by Evernote? Are our notes stored encrypted on the servers of Google? Who has the keys to decrypt encrypted information? What warranties have been put in place parties involved cannot change the rules of the game along the way? The notes of your users are a goldmine as they are more intricate than surfing habits or emails; they potentially contain much more personal information than any of the services Google offers today. Therefore, your users are entitled to what exactly are the consequences for them and make an informed decision. Look forward to receiving a concise and well documented answer and I certainly hope to continue in the line of trust I have had in you over the past 8 years.
  3. Rejoice, as of version 7.17 simplify formatting is back again. Thanks Evernote
  4. Great work Evernote team! Simplifying Formatting is back in iOS version 7.17. Thank you for staying open to your users
  5. Thanks GiacomoLaw, that did the trick! It works well now.
  6. Evernote has done a wonderful job of making text in images and PDFs searchable. It makes capturing and storing non-text input so much more valuable. The standard option Evernote offers is to recognize texts in English with another language optional. Now, I work with 4 languages permanently with 2 more less frequently and scan documents in those languages. Right now, my account settings cover 2 of the languages in use. The proposed solution: Maintain the default setting for language recognition in Evernote, as it will cover for a large group their needs. For those working wth multiple language, set the additional language either per image/PDF, or extend the general settings to multiple languages. The good part is Evernote has already the capability to scan many language. Please, make those available to the individual user. Looking forward to contributing to a solution.
  7. Great all the steps forward Evernote has taken with iOS 10. Congratulations! For the next update I would appreciate using iMessage with Evernote, when the latter has been protected with the passcode lock. Right now iMessage sees the notes, yet cannot attach any.
  8. Generally appreciate the updates. However, in Evernote for iOS 7.16.1 I miss the option "Simplify Formatting" in the note menu. Thank you so much for restoring this option.
  9. I certainly like the uptick in new releases. Congratulations for the focus and effort. Please, enable "Insert Date" and "Insert Time" (with their respective shortcuts) for the note title again. Using: Version 6.9 Beta 1 on Mac OSX 10.11.6
  10. Think of how useful this feature becomes when using Evernote's presentation mode: it clearly helps to make information in notes easier to digest when looking at the main headlines, whereas you could focus only on the collapsed details in case the appropriate audience needs to know. Among the huge benefits of this functionality is time saving as you will not need to rework the information every time your audience changes, as is usually required in the case of standard document and presentation apps such as text editors, PowerPoint and Keynote. Collapsable bullet points bring the best of both worlds of bullet lists, mind maps and/or OPML applications to the fore. For the sake of getting a better understanding of how well this concept works and to get a grasp of its usefulness, please, take a look at http://www.workflowy.com or their instructional videos. Evernote coding team, I have every faith in your ability to bring this about and I am genuinely grateful for it. Keep up that excellent work you have been doing and feel proud of what you have achieved
