  1. If this specific issue has been addressed, please refer me elsewhere.

In Evernote, I have a tag "Fingertip" for quick reference topics. I access Fingertip via a shortcut.

On my Mac and Windows Evernote installs (all up to date with the most recent versions), Evernote says I have 13  notes tagged with Fingertip.

On my iOS devices (iphone and ipad, updated with the latest versions) Evernote says I have 10 (iphone) or 13 (ipad) notes tagged with Fingertip.

In comparing the installs I see the following:

    • The ipad and Win/Mac installs have 11 notes in common flagged as Fingertip
    • The Win/Mac installs have 2 notes that the iOS devices do not have. All notes in the Win/Mac installs are correctly tagged with Fingertip.
    • The iPad device reports 2 notes tagged as Fingertip that, on inspection of the notes, are NOT tagged as Fingertip. They are free of tags.
    • the iPhone reports one note as Fingertip that is NOT tagged as Fingertip (this note also appears on the iPad). But the iphone includes one of the Win/Mac notes in its tally that the iPad does not.

I honestly don't know how to troubleshoot this. I've tagged, re-tagged, and de-tagged these notes, but the iOS devices persist in not agreeing with the Mac/Win installs, which are working as expected.

Any tips on troubleshooting this? It's annoying mainly because these are notes that I access frequently and it confuses me when an essential note is not present on all of my devices.

  2. Using an iPhone SE (1st gen), iOS 15.4, and whatever the latest EN version is (I set apps to auto-update in the background). Used over very fast wifi.

I typed in a long note on the phone last night, one of those classic light bulb of inspiration notes. I set the phone down, picked it up a few minutes later, woke the phone, went to the note, and over half of it was gone. So i retyped what I could remember, set the phone down without putting it to sleep so the note would save. Picked it up again a few minutes later, and again, over half of the note was gone. (If only there was a way to sync the note immediately or at least save it locally in its current state.)

Checked note history in Windows Evernote and it barely recorded a quarter of what I wrote.

I filed a support ticket. I expect the workaround is to use iOS Evernote for viewing only and instead use Apple Notes when on mobile. And to rub salt into the wound, I just last week upgraded to Professional.

The other issue I have with Evernote on ipad and iphone is that notes stop syncing after a while. The only workarounds are 1) restart the device or 2) delete and reinstall the app. I'm frustrated with having to use workarounds so the app will perform its most basic function. Fortunately, the Windows desktop app seems to be mostly solid apart from duplicating notes every so often.

  3. Thanks to gazumped and DTLow for correcting my errors when posting to this forum. I'll know where to post next time.

I am using 7.14. This search does not work in my Legacy 7.14 desktop install.

My install is through the Mac App Store; I just stopped it from updating to v10.4.4 as I also use Evernote for Windows on my work laptop which is still on the legacy version.

  4. The following search string works on the web:

    created:20151206 -created:20151207

With that search, I see the only document that was created on Dec 6, 2015.

However, that search does not return anything on the Evernote desktop. In fact, the "created:yyyymmdd -created:yyyymmdd" does not work AT ALL in the desktop. What's going on? Is something clogged? Do I need to reset something?
