  1. Fantasic. Thank you agsteele. I used a slightly different approach from what you suggested, but ultimately downloaded the note onto another device, then sent the note back to the Mac and imported it there. That did the trick. As it turns out, the note is only 75 MB. I will split it into several smaller notes to get each one back under the 25MB limited required for the Free plan. Thank you so much for your advice and your help on this. You made my Monday!!
  2. Thanks Mike. Your last suggestion sounded interesting, so I tried that approach. Turns out that although I was able to select the option to export the note, when trying that, another message popped up saying that the export failed, regardless of whether I tried to export it as a PDF, an enex file or an html ... each try resulted in the same error condition. I think I'm starting to run out of options. As I mentioned earlier, I wonder if this note is simply too damaged to do anything with. I may end up simply deleting it.
  3. Thanks for the suggestion Mike. I have tried right-clicking the note in the note list, but unless it's the note in focus, there are no options that pop up to select from. I have also tried to export the entire Notebook. When I do that, the export begins, but as soon as it gets to the "problem" Note, the export stops and displays the message "Failed to Export Notes. There was a problem and we couldn't export your notes. Please try again.? It seems like the note may be corrupted in some way. Any other suggestions would be welcome.
  4. Thanks for weighing in on this topic. Here's a bit of information I can add since I put up the original post. I thought it might help to temporarily upgrade to a paid subscription ... just for a month ... to see if that would help with this issue since a paid plan allows for a Note size of 200 MB. It made no difference. I'm getting the same message. I too thought about exporting the Note, but the error message is so persistent that it doesn't give me any opportunity to even select the Note to try and take some alternate action on it. Again, what is happening is that I click on the Note, wait for it to open, the error message pops up, I click OK, the message goes away for 1 second or less, and then pops up again. I can repeat this process multiple times, but the message continues to pop up, and when it does, Evernote does not allow me to take any further action since the system freezes once the message comes up.
  5. I recently downgraded from a paid Evernote subscription to the Free version. In preparation, I merged many notes to comply with the "1 Notebook, 50 Notes" limitations. Everything is working fine with the exception of one of my Notes. When I attempt to open it, I get a message saying "Over Note Size Limit". You've reached the 200 MB Note size limit. Try reducing the size of the note or create a new Note." The only option is to click the "OK" button. But when I do that, a second or two later, the same message pops up. I am unable to do anything with this note. In fact, I have to shut Evernote down to get out of this circular problem. Does anyone know if there's a solution to this problem? I'd like to be able to cut down the size of the note, but how do I do that if I can't get into it or edit it in any way? I'm running Evernote on a Mac desktop with version 10.15.7 of the Mac OS.
