It's just annoying and partly irrelevant that it's there - and it's even not needed since you can just rightclick the notebook-headline and select "new notebook". I like my sidepanel to be just as I wan't it - free of stuff, I don't use. And yeah...maybe it's a OCD - but that's how it is I haven't been using Evernote for about a year ish. Back then, the green "shortcut" wasn't there.

Is it possible to delete or move the green "new notebook" shortcut in the sidepanel?
