work chat notification

hey all, i just got everything up and running.  My questions is how do you know someone left a msg in work chat?  is there a ding? chime? notification? anything that tells you someone left a msg?  i've been trying to use it and dont have it up infront of me at all times then i checked it to find out a msg was left 45 minutes before.

 

It would be great if there is a setting for that?
