I had a single note -- actually, one of my most important -- that had disappeared. Maybe I deleted it by accident, but in any case it was gone from the computer and from the Evernote server. In another forum topic I saw that someone had mentioned /Users/[user_name]/Library/Application Support/Evernote. I went there and took a look at the folder Application Support/Evernote/accounts/Evernote/[Evernote_user_name]/content/ and discovered a number of folders named "pnnn" where nnn was a number. Inside each of those folders there was a file "content.html" and others.
I rummaged through them and eventually found my lost note. I'm not sure if it's the latest version but it was the only version in that set of folders, and if it's not the latest it's very very close. I pasted the contents into a new Evernote note, and noted that the same HTML file was updated with the current time and date.
