(Archived) exclude shared notebooks from search

I have read the discussions about attempting to exclude a specific notebook from a search.  I understand that Evernote does not allow the  use of -notebook:[notebook name].  The most common work-around seems to be to tag the notes in the target notebook with a tag and then use the -tag:[tag name] as a search term.

 

But what about when you have a shared notebook that you'd like to exclude from a search.  If you do not have permission to add tags to the notes in the shared notebook, is there a way to exclude these notes from a search?

 

Anyone have an idea?
