(Archived) "no activity found to handle this action" when opening ppt

whenever I try to open up a note with a powerpoint attachment (ppt) I get the error "No activity found to handle this action" even though I have polaris office and Quick Office installed. if I want to open a ppt attachment I first have to save it then open it in either quickoffice or polaris. This is cumbersome. It opens up pdf attachments fine without having to first save. I havent tried opening other office type docs (.doc, .xls) yet so I'm not sure if I will have the same issue trying to open them up as well. is there a fix?
