Client not supported, please upgrade "lost notes"

So I was on the free version 10.61.5 for mac.

Yesterday I got Client not supported, please upgrade. I don;t think evernote was synching with the cloud

I downloaded new but now when I log in all my note are missing. It does not appear my notes were synching to the cloud.

Can I restore notes from local back up?

Please help
