Thorsten Albrecht 9
To be sure to keep and backup the Evernote legacy installation (as a sort of offline archive) I recommend the following steps: Backup your Evernote installation Be sure to be logged on in Evernote legacy when going through the following steps Backup Registry values [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Evernote] Backup Database folder (%userprofile%\Evernote) Warning: Be sure to back it up only when every Evernote process in Windows has been killed! e. g. WebClipper, Evernote Tray Icon, Evernote legacy Write down your Volume id from Volume C: (with 'dir C:') Stop network traffic to and from Evernote legacy create an outgoing and incoming firewall rule Adjust your sync settings in Evernote legacy deactivate everything except sync in background (for minimizing to tray) In case of a damage of your Evernote legacy installation: it's possible to restore everything with the help of data and information collected in steps 1.2. - 1.4. Hint: The volume ID of 'C:' should not be changed (e. g. it changes when you repartition your volume 'C:') no network is necessary to open Evernote legacy when the data has been restored properly 2 Link to comment
