Changing a selection of text from “normal text” to “small header” currently takes 5 taps from entering the edit menu to getting back to the keyboard. No matter which sized type you want to select, 5 taps are required.
I suggest adding a selection function that mimics the font size adjustment, which utilizes a plus or minus system. (see photo for visual ref.)
There are only 4 text type options and if the user could cycle through them in either direction (I.e. tapping plus sign “+” to cycle from 1-4 continuously; 1, 2 , 3 , 4 , 1, 2 etc. or tapping minus sign “-“ to cycle backward; 1, 4, 3, 2, 1, etc.) then the maximum taps for this change would be reduced to 3 and at minimum could be accomplished in 2 taps. That’s a 40-60% reduction of taps!
