Text is bunched together on Evernote Android (no carriage returns) on new notes created in Evernote Web

I have a some notes this week that were created in Evernote web from text copied from a text notepad.  They look as expected in Evernote web with each item on a separate line, and also some blank lines for separation of text items.  But in Evernote Android, the entire text of the note is bunched together as one block of text with no carriage returns.  I've never seen this behavior before, and it makes it impossible to work with these notes in Evernote Android.
