Updated Evernote App not syncing on iphone and ipad

I  installed the new evernote app on both my iphone and my ipad. Both devices continue to display an outdated version of my database (i.e. old status of notes and tags from a few weeks back). I have deleted and re-installed the app multiple times, but it did not help. I had the same issue on my Mac where I then reverted to the legacy app, which solved the problem, i.e. got me to the latest status of the database. Everything is fine on the web-based version, which makes me think that there is an issue with the iOS app for the phone and the ipad. Any insights are much appreciated as the mobile app functionality is critical to my workflow.
