Inserting hyperlinks to local files no longer working - please help

Good day,

I just upgraded to Evernote v 10.3.6. (Windows 10 Enterprise edn). To my dismay, I can no longer insert hyperlinks to local files.

Before, I was able to add a links to, e.g., "C:\test.doc" or any other path. This is no longer working.

Unfortunately, I could not find anything in your help files or in the forum.

My workflow depends heavily on such links, so I'd greatly appreciate any help to solve this issue.
