If you move the focus out of the edit area, your editing history is lost.If you have the note synchronized to the server and/or to other computers, you can recover your note by taking its content from the web interface or from other computers having the local copy of this note before the sync propagates the changes.So, if you did something horribly irreversible to your notes -- don't panic. First thing to do immediately is to turn the Offline mode on (see Account > Offline Mode) to disable sync with the service, then try to save your notes by going to the web client and copying them from there, or -- if there are too many notes -- just deleting the local note storage file (\My Documents\My Evernote Files\Databases3\.exb) and resyncing from scratch from the service.
